Hi everyone, I've been giving some thought to recent concerns about letter caps restricting a general reach out beyond established letter circles. I don't know how much help it will be, but I'm considering purchasing an extra letter pool just so I can share it with folks who might be thinking of reaching out to my character but are in danger of reaching their own cap.
Before I do, @Athena Peters would that be doable or too much of a logistics nightmare? I don't want to add extra work to you and your staff.
So, say player A let me know they wanted to send Jack a letter, but they had reached their cap for the month, could I let you know I wanted to give player A one of my extra letters?
If it is doable, would that be a welcome possibility for anyone else? I wouldn't be able to fund all correspondence headed my way, but happy to help when I can.
Wait, I am also confused about this. Not that I don’t love the idea of giving players a chance to help each other out and better address the new limits of the letter cap, but this feels like it would be generating more administrative work rather than less?
So @Athena Peters with the letter cap, both one-time $15 add-on and increased-level subscription, is it 'use it or lose it', or do the unused purchased amounts roll over month-to-month?
I'm confused about this making *more* work and thus higher cost for Incantrix.
Awesome, thanks!
This is a lovely community minded idea. The way we plan on tracking Letter Upgrades right now is to have a "Bonus Mail" column in the database. When someone purchases one, we add the extra 10 to that column to be ticked down when they go over their subscription allotment.
Thus I don't see much more difficulty in un managing the movement of a number from one column to another. This should be doable. We would just the the Purchaser to contact us in email to make the change so they are authorizing the transfer and it is tracked appropriately.
