Looking forward to snail mail again! My character is a naval officer and a . His friends call him Jack, but I'll leave the details to our game encounters ;)
Fear not. That's the beauty of larp. You can be as detailed or not as detailed as you want :) I only have a rough outline and very little interest in historical accuracy, ha!. Characters take on life and grow/change just like in real life. Welcome and enjoy :)
Thank you, I’m glad to hear I’m not alone! I started getting concerned about historical accuracy after reading some of these posts. Some of y’all are VERY thorough! Haha looking forward to learning a lot.
Hello new friends! I'm Emily (she/her) playing Eloise Snowden (a name pulled directly from my ancestry - any other genealogy nerds?). I am brand new to this type of role play/LARP but i'm really excited to get started! I feel a little overwhelmed by how many of you have flushed out your characters stories so well, mine is VERY basic, but I'll figure it out as I go! Looking forward to corresponding with you all and making connections, romantic or otherwise!
Hi all! I'm Montana, longtime LARPer, first time letter LARPer. I love animals and crafting, I have chronic health issues, and I'm a bisexual disaster.
I'll be playing Lady Elaine Pedley, a sheltered noble lady who is looking for a match, and that is honestly all I know about her at this point. 😅 I'm generally overwhelmed by the sheer volume of things I don't know about Regency England, so if anyone wants to throw some suggested reading my way, feel free.
Hi there! I am Wren (he/they) and I will be playing Dimitri Shields, (he/him) who is just a very nice boy who enjoys writing letters. Good golly I have missed larping! The setting of this game what it is, I am hoping that the world is pretty open to the LGBTQA+ community. I almost never play straight cis characters and I don't know how I would even try to do so at this point!
Hello! I'm Jenn (she/her) and I'm playing Morven Blackwood- recent Scottish transplant and almost-spinster. I'm hoping she can make a match this season (even if she's hesitant about it)! More details about her in the Connections Wanted thread.
I work in tabletop RPGs and I've really been missing larping, so I'm very excited about this game!
My name is Steve Uyeda (he/him), and I am playing Abraham Griffen, merchant ship's captain, having recently left service from the Royal Navy. Abraham is sort of at loose ends, not sure what he wants to do with his life - he is a third offspring after all. Looking forward to see what kind of connections, plots, mischief, shenanigans and relationships will come to fruition with you all!
@ Duke James Richmond changed Abraham’s ship at Trafalgar to make easier connections. (HMS Bellerophon - 3rd rate, 74 guns). Will remember Nigel with some prompting. Abraham will need some mentoring. Thank you!
Hello everyone!I'm Rose (they/them), and this is my second LARP! I've been missing playing pretend so bad this last year, so I'm super excited to meet all of you and jump in! This will be my very first letter LARP! I'm a children's librarian, so I overuse exclamation marks and sound like a very excited small child.
I'll be playing Lady Cecilia Carlyle (she/they), another new debutante eager to jump into society, collect gossip, and make friends!
Hello, all! I'm Elizabeth and I'll be playing Lady Violet Heloise Blankeney-Coventry. (There's more information about her in the Connections thread.) I'm based in Cambridge, MA and in real life I attend seminary, so if you'd like to chat about in-game religion I would love to talk to you about it! People frequently think I'm from the Victorian era in real life already, so Regency isn't too much of a stretch...
Salut! I'm Mitzie (she/her) and am missing LARP and people something Fierce (never thought as an introvert I'd say that but here we are). I'm a professional creative with phototherapy & intimate portraits being my Soul purpose and full-time job.
I'm really excited for this game because a) new adventure, b) nerding out with stationary and letters and actual post, and c) new people and connections to make with a new character in and out of game. Can't wait to see how this plays out.
My name is Chase (He/They) and this is the first LARP I've ever done. I'm very excited to do this, as it's super theatrical and I'm a theatre major so... the shoe fits and I'm wearing it.
I will be playing Lord Thomas Honeyfield (He/Him), a Cambridge University student who is re-entering normal society after having his nose stuffed in books for a while. I don't want to give too much away, cause that's the fun, but I'm so very excited to write with everyone!
I am also playing a very nerdy-type character and could see Lavinia Thomas hitting it off at a party and getting rapidly lost in conversation in some corner during the evening discussing the finer points of Atomic Theory or Brianchon's theorem.
Hello to one and all! My name is Erin (She/Her) and I’ll be playing Lady Amaris DeLaine (She/Her). So looking forward to passing this new year in correspondence with all of you!
My name is Sam(She/They) and I will be playing Lady Aurora Bethridge(She/Her)I've been larping for almost 6 years and have been very anxious to play again. I'm definitely looking forward to playing and forming connections with all you lovely people!
My name is Rae (She/Her), I will be playing Duchess Eudora St. Clair (She/They). I've been larping for almost 8 years, and I'm very thrilled to be on this journey with you all as i've never done a larp this style before! I'll put more in the other post on the forum regarding ties, background, etc. But wanted to at least pop on here and introduce myself. Very eager to make ties & connect with you all :)
Hello all you lovely people! I'm Marshall (they/them), and I'll be playing Abigail Pembroke's rather more serious younger sibling, Lady Marion Pembroke (he/they). I'm fairly new to the LARP scene, and this is my very first letter LARP. I'm very excited to be playing with y'all!! Marion is a brand new debutante, and while he looks quite qualified from a distance (the Pembroke name carries some respect with it, and his mother commands a quite profitable business), one will find that he's quite stiff in person. Of course I am open to character ties. The Pembroke estate is located near Bath (as @Avery/Abigail Pembroke mentioned in the estates thread) so we could perhaps cross paths there. (:
Ooh, that's a great question! I think in private they're much more awkward and easily excitable, but they aren't the type to start rowdy fun or get into trouble. Yet. (:
Hello everyone, my name is Kaleen and I am a long time LARPer, and a lover of all things Austin. I have never done a 'by mail' correspondence game but I'm very eager to try.
I will be playing Lady Lavina Gregory, a bright faced newcomer to the marriage market. She is a bit...eccentric and I cannot wait for more of her interests and backstory to come out in game.
Hi all! I'm going to be playing the Dowager Countess Olivia Lenox. The Dowager Countess's title is deceiving — she is a young woman, as she and her husband were only married for a little under two years before his untimely death. Now, after an appropriate time of mourning, she is back on the marriage market with a large fortune painting an unquestionable target on her back. Society watches to see what she does next.
I'm looking quite eagerly for making ties, including familial ones! Livvy's surname is open to change.
I’m Greg and I’ll be playing James Richmond, 7th Duke of Somerset. I don’t want to reveal TOO much, but I fairly large part of my character’s story is that he hosts hunts and house parties, and famously, the Cavaletti Soirée. The Cavaletti is like a “practice” for those attending the London Season.
Ties I’m looking for:
• Party attendees of all kinds and stripe (he’s been hosting for the past year)
• Classmates from Cambridge (James is 24 now)
• Neighbors!
• Friends of my older brother Nigel who died in the Battle of Trafalgar
@(Rachel) Hazel Wynnewood I would love that! When did Hazel open her theater? (As a place they could have met, prior to her being invited to a house party or ball?)
Hello everyone! My name is Amber, but I will be playing Baroness Margery Eddowes, a recent widow of the Baron Cecil Eddowes. Their relationship was quite scandalous, actually, considering he was about 30 years her senior and they never were able to bear children. Margery now has to contend with running her husband's shipping business alone -- apart from whatever help she'll be getting from the Guardian she's been assigned. Maybe she'll pursue a romance with someone of a higher station, or maybe focus on her passion for music and poetry instead.
I'm personally fairly new to the LARP space, only just recently being able to break through using online LARP during the pandemic. I've been tabletop roleplaying for over a year now, however, and have actually created a few games of my own!
I'm excited to join this community and learn how epistolary games go. I've been intrigued since reading Wolf In White Van by John Darnielle, though I hope this will go much, much differently than that, haha.
Hi everyone! I'm Robin and I'll be playing Lady Emmeline Petty-Fitzmaurice, daughter and youngest child of the former 1st Marquess of Lansdowne/2nd Earl of Shelburne (RIP), who shares the title of Marquess with her older brother Edmund. I'm prone to playing characters that start off seeming pretty surface, but you soon realize there are depths... and Emmie's no different. I'm particularly psyched to bust out my Victorian writing desk and I'm definitely buying a new wax seal. If you're basing your character near Bath you might know me. And if you happened to serve in the BRN 1803-1805 (including Trafalgar) you'll know a couple folks in my proposed backstory ( @D Peter ?) . Looking forward to corresponding!
Please don't mistake my brief reply as being terse or non-interested. Quite the contrary. I'm just really loving and looking forward to the all by mail aspect of this game, so I'd rather keep my character's details for in-game discovery. If I'm understanding how this is going to work, the first newsletter should provide us all enough intro tidbits to inspire our first correspondence with each other. I find that the most intriguing aspect of this game.
Abraham Griffin at your service, milady. I had the honor of serving in the Royal Navy during the Battle of Trafalgar and just left service about a year ago.
I thought I'd swing by and do a more formal intro. I'm Ray (she / mixed use), and I'm playing Colonel The Right Hon. Gilbert O. Molyneux (he / him). In real life, I'm a pretty chill person who is sick to death of being cooped up and in quarantine. I have a small dog, who is my absolute favorite, and I am really passionate about my hobbies: D&D, art, writing, travel, cooking... I mean, I guess most people like those things 😅. Anyway, I won't bog you down too much with the character details, but I am playing what I hope is going to be 1) an interesting person with a story to tell in his own right 2) a slightly byronic love interest, because that is just SO TROPE.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to this a ton! All of my other game groups (and most of my friends) are kind of hardcore fantasy-gaming-or-bust, and I would just really effing love to do something romantic (in the literary sense).
Hey ya’ll! I’m Rachel! (She/her) I’m an opera singer, voice teacher and all around creative living in Philly! I’m playing Miss Hazel Ottillie Wynnewood (she/her) the general manager of The Wilde Tulip Theatre. Open to all sorts of character ties! X) I’m excited to play.
Here’s a pic of me in regency dress being extremely aesthetic.
I apologize - I thought we were suppose to introduce ourselves and our characters in separate threads, but I see it's all taking place in this thread! *blush* I will inevitably make many of these faux pas as I am brand new to LARP. So I appreciate your understanding and empathy along the way!My name is Angela and my character is Charlotte Grant. She is the daughter of Admiral Edward Grant - a well-known, highly-honored admiral in the Navy. She is passionate about any and all things nautical/naval related and has dreams of someday owning a schooner of her own. She's very open to friends/enemies/romantic attachments if anybody wants to plot anything prior to the game starting.
No matter what - very much looking forward to getting to know all of your characters further soon! :)
Hey everyone! I'm Ash and I'm really excited for this to start. I'm going to be playing Lady Eliza Honeyfield - bi disaster. Not going to give a ton of her backstory away, but she is a total sweetheart. I'm open to discussing character ties and friendships and she will be available on the marriage mart. ;)
I can't wait to get to start writing to everyone. I'm buying my stationery and wax seals this week! :D
Edit: I also decided that she is in the honey/beekeeping business (because I love the idea of it because of her last name) so most people probably know that
Greetings! I'm Tara, long time larper, first time letter larper, and I'll be playing Lady Catherine Marie Stuart. Catherine is a very kindhearted romantic with a notable singing voice, but there are some questions about her lineage. She was debuted a couple years after her peers and at balls she seems to favor those with involvement in military and politics. It's said she likes military fellows, when considering romantic prospects.
I'm open to sisters and extended family for this character, as well as friends... maybe a tougher close friend, the Slytherin to her Hufflepuff.
Hello everybody! I'm Renee, and I'll be playing Lady Amelia Rutherford, whose family made their most recent fortunes with the burgeoning innovations in textile manufacturing. She's an eligible marriage match, but there will likely be some rumors circulating about why it might be a bad idea to pursue it...Happy to talk about potential character ties!
Miss Beatrice Ballard also comes from a new-money textile manufacturing family; very likely the Ballards and the Rutherfords are either in business together or in competition together.
All right I guess this is the thread where we introduce ourselves, so hi! I’m Avery (she/her), and I’m playing Abigail Pembroke (she/her), an heiress-turned-seaman because life’s too short to confine yourself to a single estate all your life :D If anyone wants ties, feel free to hit me up; I’m super psyched to be playing with you all! ❤️
Hello, everyone! My name is Hilary and character name is Eleanor Savery. I'm interested in setting up some friend/family relations prior to game to hit the ground running but I shall save that for another thread. I'm excited to get started!
Hi, I’m Tammi. Fan of historical dancing, LARP, Renaissance faires, board games,,
sewing, and of course, tea. I’ll let you all find out about my character in game. :-) Got my stationary, pens and embellishments ready! Looking forward to playing with all of you!
Charlotte will definitely look forward to correspondence! Being an Admirals daughter and deeply invested in all things naval/nautical, she would love to communicate with someone of a similar interest. :)
Fear not. That's the beauty of larp. You can be as detailed or not as detailed as you want :) I only have a rough outline and very little interest in historical accuracy, ha!. Characters take on life and grow/change just like in real life. Welcome and enjoy :)

Hmmm doesn't seem to be an edit your comment feature. Meant that to say ... and a noble.
Hi! Fun-fake Cavalry officer here. I am also looking forward to having something new to do, and writing letters in general!
