Hello everyone! I don't know about everyone else, but I am typing my letters. I don't particularly like my handwriting, and, honestly, I like how must faster I type and having the ability to easily edit. I've been searching for historical fonts and literally found one called Jane Austen! The link is here.
Any other good fonts for those of us using a computer?
I love all the Jellyka fonts, A. Lincoln font, Fountain Pen Frenzy, Hannibal Lecter font, Jefferson font, and War Letters.
I've been thinking about doing a hybrid approach, both typing and then tracing over a printed page. This font looks promising: https://www.fontspace.com/ecolier-family-font-f3657
Using MS Word, there are several fonts that may be useful. I started with Edwardian and found I liked Vivaldi better. They are small fonts, so need to be 14 or 16 point to be easily readable on the printed page.
I sent letters in that font and can confirm it's rather lovely! I'd recommend narrowing your margins, as it's a wide font so a page can fill very quickly, but there was no issue with the font or kerning that I caught.
I actually was just looking in to this. I've been using Google Docs for my record keeping for this larp and I found a way to add more hand-writing style fonts in Google Docs. Click the fonts drop down (the default is usually set to Arial) and immediately under that is a More Fonts option. From there, under the show all fonts drop-down menu, you can find different handwriting options. I had a lot of fun playing with the different handwriting fonts there, and I was impressed with a lot of them.
